Alan and Barbara met at Lark In the Morning Music Camp, started an on-going French music session and later-on a performing duo. The highlight of this duo's career was a six month
'run' of saturdays entertaing folks at the Stanford Shopping Center's 'French Market'.

Alan was the "boss bones" of Danse Macabre for a couple of years during the mid '80s. Here we see him with his tambourin de Bèarn (string drum) and galoubet (converted tin

"Le Grande Orchestre" comprised of 413 players from all over the world. The orchestra was organized into four groups of vielles and cornemuses in the keys of D/G and G/C.
A concert of traditional tunes native to the region of Berry played in 3 part harmony made up the afternoon program.
